Hiro’s Come Home
by Tim on May.07, 2010, under blog
Sorry to open up like this again, but haven’t posted on here in a while. So one of my friends ended up getting a position over at Dark Horse Comics. Similar position to the one I applied for a few months back. I did not get an interview. Looks like they revamped the position a little and reopened it, and it actually prolly fit my qualifications better, but did not apply, and my friend got the job. That’s awesome because if he likes it, then I have an in, and eventually, maybe I can use that as a way to get in.
But the real reason why I haven’t posted in a while is that I’ve taking in a son… Rather, I’m the papa to a pretty cute looking Siberian Husky. I did get him from a breeder which originally I was fairly against, but you just know when you find the right one. And I found him with a breeder in Heppner, Oregon.
As you can gather from the title, his name is Hiro, he’s a siberian husky, and is about 13 weeks. Born February 3, 3 days before my birthday.
I have also been working on a Fiber Optic ceiling for my entertainment room. So lots and lots of stuff been going on. Sure I’ll post more soon
Enjoy Spring, and Summer, the sun is finally out.

Health in Life

So my dad was admitted into the hospital. Had a tumor on his bladder. That was Wednesday when he went in, and he’s still in there :-/. There were some clotting problems so they went and suctioned some of those clots out. Things have just been busy so I’ll be sure to write a little bit more a little later.

Catching Up
by Tim on Dec.11, 2009, under blog
Well, it’s been a while since I’ve posted. Seems like every other post starts out that way. Well this time there’s a good reason. I just purchased my first home. It’s a townhouse in South Salem. So not quite a real home. But it’ll be my home. WHICH IS EXCITING.
I missed out on getting the dog I thought would be my best pal. But he did some great things for me. Even though I never met him, I felt something good about him, which motivated me to get out of my apartment and into a place that I could have my own pet. Which as it turned out, timing was just right on getting this townhouse. Price was good, loan offer was good. The only thing that makes it just a skosh sad, is that Zeke (the husky I wanted to get) was adopted to another family about a week ago. But sounds like he has a good family that will love him a lot.
I don’t know much about the family, but they came by with their 15 year old daughter who had lost her Siberian husky to cancer. With Zeke, he’d see different people come and go and look at him, but never really felt any special connection with anyone. Then this girl shows up and right away he’s all over her, talking to her, and trying to be pals. As they left to go home and think about adopting Zeke, he went up to the door they just exited, and was smelling the draft of air as her scent was fluttering away. A week later, the family comes back to adopt him, and he runs right into the girls arms. So Zeke has helped me get my own place, and he has a loving family.
So right now I’m packing up my apartment, and painting. Going to be a long weekend(s), but the over all time will be short. I’ll get some pictures up soon of my progress, but I won’t be moving into my new place until February. Which is right around my birthday.

dn – up

Just finished watching “Up” with the kids. Good nice movies. And plus it kept the kids entertained. Then we put on Under the Tuscan Sun, and they fell right asleep. Whew, boy, long day. Helping grandma watch the kids, and also started putting cabinet knobs on my folks cabinets. They just got new counter tops, perhaps I should try taking a picture and posting them. Granite. I was going to build a coffee table out of the left overs, but they are so dang heavy. So I’ll have to go with the original plan which was to just use wood. Trying to plan it out in my head because in my head it looks fairly and looks good.
I just hope I’ll be able to turn that image in my head into a good table.

Gift of Life
by Tim on Oct.30, 2009, under Uncategorized
So, the other day, took a fresh breath of air, and then walked into the Blood Mobile, and donated a pint of blood. Stephanie and I donated at the same time, and I came out victorious…. Well we both successfully donated a pint of blood each, but we were racing. I finished filling the blood bag at 6 minutes 10 seconds by my count (the assistant had said it was already full though), and Stephanie was around 6 minutes 27 seconds. Long claims that when he donated earlier, he finished around 4 minutes 30 seconds or something.
Ahh well. Good day none the less. But I did get a new scar, which I’m hoping I can keep on top of and hopefully it will reduce and not be noticeable. Anyhows…
Happy Halloween.

National Suicide LifeLine

If you see signs with your friend(s), or with yourself call the National Suicide Lifeline, Life can be hard at times, but there’s always a future 1-800-273-TALK (8255) http://www.suicidepreventionlifeline.org/
Just had a friend tell me that his relationship has ended, and didn’t know what he would do. Feels alone and rejected by many of his friends and family. All I can really do is talk with him, to try to convince him it’s not a good thing to be thinking in such drastic measures. It’s hard to really help when they live pretty far away. The Forecast says cloudy, but i look out the window and I see a lot of sun. I hope this is a good omen, and my friend will find his way back.

Tokyo International
by Tim on Oct.27, 2009, under blog
Had a delicious lunch over at Kaneko Cafe at the Tokyo International University of America yesterday. Nothing like a good ramen bowl on a cold rainy day. Now today the sun is shining between all the clouds. Actually the nice thing about this rain, is when there is a brief moment when the clouds burn away and you can see the sky, it is really nice to see a dark blue clean sky. As if the pollution and contaminants in the air were washed away.
This morning there was an exceptionally good sunrise. Yet again, rain clouds, but a nice break where the shine just shines through. My hope is that this is a sign for a new day, a new beginning for a lot of people.

Change is in the Air
by Tim on Oct.20, 2009, under blog
Change is in the air, like winter. Can you smell the wood burning? The weather has been crazy lately. But I suppose it’s pretty mild considering. Work, work has been work. And life has been a little stressful. In general I have nothing to complain about. But sometimes do you ever wonder what life would be if things turned out differently?
I certainly do. I’m one of those nice guys. Part of the whole nice guys finish last which is always unfortunate. But it’s who I am. At least I’m not dead last right? O_o But seriously. I’m thinking I need to volunteer somewhere. Dunno where, but somewhere that makes a difference. I really just need to find something that will challenge me. Push me to the edges. Everything is quite stagnate right now, and even though the job is cake, it’s not allowing me to really grow.
But such is life. Good times are ahead though. My brother is coming home for Thanksgiving. He’s been in Hawaii for a long time, and was recently reassigned to Korea. So this holiday season should be pretty good

Seahawks bust! Spanish Coffee’s yes!
by Tim on Oct.18, 2009, under blog
Well the Seahawks lost today. Actually they were pretty much not even though. No defense whatsoever. However, I suppose the advantage of not following sports too closely, is that it doesn’t really matter who wins, it was still a good time.
A good way to end the furlough weekend. Friday, my furlough day, went out with the gang to portland. Ate at the Macaroni Grill, walked around, visited Floating World Comics, Compound, and a few other places. Quite entertaining. Spent a little bit of time waiting for a table at Portland City Grill. Wasn’t by the window, but at least we had a seat. A few friends came over, and then we hit up Huber’s for deep fried olives, and spanish coffee’s. After that we all made our way to Lloyd Center and watched Paranormal Activity. PA started out slow, and there were a few areas I thought were cheesy, but actually by the time everything was built up, the end was fairly suspensful and kept you on the edge of your seat. But thats an hour to get to the scary 20 minutes
Quite a full day of events.
Hopefully more to come. ^_^

Oregon Fall
by Tim on Oct.17, 2009, under blog

Lightning in oregon
Oregon does it again. Going from 90* weather to 60s/low 70s pretty much over night. Well Fall is definitely fully in the swing of things, and today, we got a little bit of sun before the monsoon hit. Though in Oregon these puppies only last a few minutes really. Rain can go on for days, but when our monsoons hit, that’s when I seem to find the most relaxation. Always found it peaceful to just think to myself with the sound of rain just outside my window.
And, at least in Oregon, thunder and lightning don’t really come by too often. So today was pretty spectacular for me since I could drive, or just sit by and watch a few decent lightning bolds followed by the roar of Oregon thunder. Though it’s almost gone already, it does manage to relax me.
