Day 4 – Fire Dance

Louie, Louie, Louie
Well I’ve been hella busy. You’d think that being in hawaii would entitle me to relaxation. Well…
It’s been a blast so far. Just took a few days to get started, the day I landed I started working on my brothers backyard. He also has been way busy, and hasn’t had time to do what he should be doing to get his house ready to rent while he’s in Korea. So I took on the task of his yard. There are no before pictures, but when I get back I’ll be sure to post a picture of the post work.
And on Sunday (May 17th) we attended his graduation where he earned his Masters degree. Had an extraordinary dinner with some friends of his, they went all out, bought us all dinner, fairly spending place, bought him presents, bought everyone leis, and did a few arts and crafts for us all. Again, pictures to come. Monday, I worked on his yard more, and some other friends of his came over and helped out, and once again, more then kind with their time and efforts. We were able to finish the yard, and were able to borrow someones truck and dump all the “rubbish” in the yard debris fill. And Today while the bro was at work, the rest of us went on a drive around the island, went to Pali Point, Kaneohe Bay, and the Polynesian Cultural Center. Ended up spending the rest of our day at PCC, but there was so much stuff to see. And the final night show was quite amazing.
I’m hoping one of these days I’ll be able to pull myself out of bed and get to a good beach location for a sunrise picture. I’m prolly only going to do that once, so I hope I pick the right morning and the right spot.
Well that’s about it for tonight.
Peace out.

Day [-01]
by Tim on May.15, 2009, under Uncategorized
Alrighty, well for all you unfortunate souls who happen to actually want to come here and find out whats going on. Tonight is the night before I head out to Hawaii. Never been there, but have had family living there for about 4 years now I think. And now that that family is getting ready to head out, I deem it to be the time to get out of the office and try to find something to enjoy in Hawaii. How lame…
But seriously, it should be a good trip. I am borrowing my friend’s Canon 30D, so I’m going to attempt to get a few excellent shots, which I will post here and on my flickr
http://www.flickr.com/photos/ikkarisio/
But all the pros out there will prolly be like, wow he hauled that camera around to take some point and shoot photos. The hope is to prove them wrong and come out with some really nice pictures. I’m also going to try to do a couple video blog entries. Just short and sweet, giving people a quick heads up and a glimpse at the weather. I’ll be there until around May 26. And then it will be back to the mainland. Also keep an eye out on that about page, because I’ll be working on a family history piece, which I found out is actually quite interesting.
So until next time,
Mahalo

Family History
by Tim on May.06, 2009, under blog
Well, haven’t posted in a few days, but thought I’d get everyone in the loop of what I’ve been up to. Busy at work, trying to wrap up this CSI web stuff. Should be pretty fun, I’ll post a link when I have it online. Days are pretty full, and our IT department keeps making things more difficult on us, but we’ll survive. You know, you’re job is to update the website keep it maintained and add fun and dynamic content. But everytime we push on being better and more dynamic, and more interesting we get shut down. And then when we are talking about doing our day to day activities, they tighten it even more. There are probably rumors being spread that we’re doing stuff we aren’t suppose to, even though there’s a business need for us to do things the way we are doing. Well Matias will have a blast when he gets in tomorrow.
So what was the point of this post? Oh ya, the family history. So I’m working on writing up the history of how my family ended up in America. At least my dad’s side of the family. I heard it for the first time, at least to where I can remember, and it was actually pretty interesting. So naturally my version will just add to the dramatization of it all, but it’ll be true. So I’ve been busy gathering information on the time and collecting all the little details I want to include. So I should have this history lesson up before I leave for Hawaii next week. So stay tuned…

Timbers Railhawks Game.
by Tim on May.01, 2009, under blog
Well it’s no Blazers game… But checked out yesterday’s soccer game of the Portland Timbers vs. Carolina Railhawks. Entertaining non the less. Ben had a digi shirt, which was a volume level graph. Forget what they are called, but was fairly entertaining seeing the thing max out when the crowd cheered. Should be interesting going back tomorrow.
After depositing some checks, I realized my headlight was out, so took a detour home and got a few replacement bulbs. I’m not quite sure when it went out, but this was the first time changing it out. But it’s all good now. Everyone can see me bombing down the road a billion miles an hour now.
Also checked out the Immigration Rally at the Capitol today. That was definitely interesting. Specially when Ashley pulled out the six step and hip hopped during the middle of it. Long, you got the pictures around? hehe.
